Physical comedy at its best and most bizarre; The Dark Party is a journey both literally and metaphorically through the lives of men.
Produced by The Dirty Brothers Sideshow from Melbourne, who have just returned from a triumphant season at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Dark Party is enjoying rave reviews for rattling the cage of modern circus and bringing sideshow to the world of contemporary theatre. Tramps armed with a strange and fantastic collection of props narrate this dreamscape and sometimes nightmarish journey into the soul: Lost, disillusioned and mildly amused, the performers stagger through a series of disconnected vignettes where they discover real laughter and true sorrow with their co-stars of swords, staple guns, singing saws and power tools.
Eschewing genre like all great sideshow, this dark, dirty and deranged yet truly funny performance has to be seen to be believed. Photo credit: Kyra Smith

“The performers approach each act of masochism with zen-like calm…a suave sideshow by three men who will eat, step on or hang from their nipples just about anything.” The Age (Melbourne)
