About Us

Brisbane Festival is one of Australia's leading international Arts Festivals.

Held biennially, the Festival places great emphasis on creating new work, accessibility and facilitating exchanges between local, national and international artists and companies. The Festival endeavours to include the entire community in its program of activities by having intellectual and artistic debate, national and international artistic dialogue and extremely broad grassroots support.

Under the direction of Lyndon Terracini, Artistic Director and CEO, Brisbane Festival 2008 will deliver a sensational international programme and will be held from 18 July to 3 August, 2008.

"A great festival should be about big ideas, it should be about the most important issues, individuals and artists of our time and it should also be about connecting to the culture of its own particular place. A great festival should embrace and nurture its own community but it should also have a universal resonance which connects people from across the globe to a unique meeting place.

This is our vision and purpose for Brisbane Festival 2008."
