Will Sunsuper Riverfire still be on if it rains?
Yes, Sunsuper Riverfire will still go ahead in the rain. The weather forecast for Saturday 28 September predicts that it will rain in the morning and will clear up by the evening. In the event of any delays or cancellations we will make announcements on the event listing and through Twitter and Facebook.

Will roads be closed for Sunsuper Riverfire?
There will be road, bridge and river closures affecting Brisbane City, South Brisbane, Kangaroo Point and Fortitude Valley areas from midday. Get the full list.
When are the ADF Aerial Displays?*
- 3.30pm Superhornet
- 4.30pm Helicopters
- 5.40pm Superhornets
- 5.50pm Helicopters
- 7.04pm Superhornets (flying south to north)
*Helicopters will be Eurocopter Tiger and MRH90. However, availability of ADF aircraft is subject to operational requirements.
Will South Bank be fenced?
South Bank is a popular place for families to watch Sunsuper Riverfire. The venue is fenced for public safety and will be closed once capacity is reached.
Can I take my own drinks or alcohol into South Bank?
South Bank is an alcohol-free zone. Please do not bring glass, alcohol or any liquid in a container that has already been opened including reusable drink bottles. These items will be confiscated by South Bank security staff.
What can’t I bring to South Bank?
Bikes, skateboards, boogie boards, dogs, scooters, rollerblades, roller skates, alcohol, glass receptacles, open bottles or bottles with broken seals.
Can I take my dog to South Bank?
No. Dogs but will not be permitted in the parklands for Sunsuper Riverfire. See the pet section below for recommendations on keeping your pets safe at home during the fireworks display.
What should I do with my pet on Sunsuper Riverfire night?
Here are some tips to ensure your animals are safe and secure:
- Contain your animal in your house or garage overnight; ensure there is a comfortable bed, plenty of water and some food.
- It is advisable to close the curtains and turn on the TV or radio to provide some distraction.
- Leave your pet with a friend or family member who is not going out.
- Ensure your pet wears appropriate identification at all times, just in case they do escape.
If your dog becomes distressed during fireworks or thunder, speak to your local veterinarian as they may be able to recommend something to help keep animals calm.
Will there be additional public transport services for Sunsuper Riverfire?
Additional Citytrain and Brisbane Transport Bus services will operate to and from Sunsuper Riverfire. For further information about timetabled services, fares, temporary stops and additional services visit the TransLink website or call 13 12 30.
Will there be enough toilets for patrons during Sunsuper Riverfire?
Brisbane Festival provides temporary toilet facilities at various locations including South Bank, Kangaroo Point and the Fortitude Valley.
Can I buy food at Kangaroo Point and South Bank for Sunsuper Riverfire?
Food and beverage vendors will be located at popular Sunsuper Riverfire vantage points including South Bank and Kangaroo Point. Visit the Sunsuper Riverfire event page to view the Vantage Point map for this information.
I want to view the Sunsuper Riverfire fireworks display from my boat on the Brisbane River. How can I get permission to do so?
For public safety, Maritime Safety Queensland closes that section of the Brisbane River between Mowbray Park, East Brisbane and Cribb Street, Milton during Sunsuper Riverfire.
Regulations will be in place to establish fireworks exclusion zones and two temporary spectator mooring zones in the Town Reach.
All spectator vessels attending must be registered for an Aquatic Flag in order to gain access to the dedicated spectator mooring zones.
How do I get an Aquatic (boat) Flag?
All spectator vessels and their tenders attending Sunsuper Riverfire must be registered for an Aquatic Flag in order to gain access to the dedicated spectator mooring zones.
Only 100 recreational vessels under 12metres will be permitted to attend.*
Entry Permit Flags were distributed on Wednesday 21 August.
*Please note: recreational vessels are limited to 12metres and under for public safety reasons.

Where is the best place to view Santos GLNG City of Lights?

The best place to view Santos GLNG City of Lights is from the Santos GLNG Lounge, located on the Cultural Forecourt, South Bank. You can also see the Santos GLNG City of Lights anywhere along the Clem Jones Promenade at South Bank.
What time is the show on?
On a Friday and Saturday evening there will be a 12 minute show at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm; and Sunday to Thursday, 7pm and 8.30pm.
When is the last Santos GLNG City of Lights show?
The final Santos GLNG City of Lights show is programmed on Friday 27 September at 9pm.
Can I view Santos GLNG City of Lights from my boat?
No, for public safety the South Brisbane reach of the Brisbane River is closed between the Goodwill and Victoria Bridge and no mooring or access is permitted and Queensland Water Police will initiate the closure during each show and move on any moored vessels.

How do I get a Festival program?
The best way to get all the information on events is here on our website. We no longer have any copies of our printed program for distribution, however you can browse an electronic version online.

Can I perform at Brisbane Festival?
Brisbane Festival is a curated event and the character of the Festival is dependent on the vision of the Artistic Director. Brisbane Festival is unable to offer assessment and feedback on unsolicited submissions.
Is there an opportunity to hold a stall at any of the Brisbane Festival events?
There are currently no opportunities for stall participation.

Can I use my camera or recording device inside the theatre or The Spiegeltent?
No. The use of cameras, video, or audio recording devices are strictly prohibited at all Brisbane Festival shows.
Are children permitted in The Spiegeltent or the Garden Bar?
Entry to The Spiegeltent & Garden Bar is permitted to ALL AGES who hold a valid ticket to a performance or are attending a function. In the event that an underage patron does not have a valid ticket to an event, they will only be permitted entry when accompanied by a responsible adult.
Can I book a booth at the The Spiegeltent?
All tickets, including the booths are general admission at the Spiegeltent except for a ring of premium seats available for purchase around the stage.
Do I have to buy a ticket for my child at The Spiegeltent?
For the family program, 2 years and under are free. All other Spiegeltent shows, 3 years & older require a ticket at concession prices.
Where can I collect my ticket?
Tickets can be collected from the box office at the venue. Please see our Ticketing page for more information.
I want to cancel/change/refund my ticket?
Once a sale is finalised, there will be no refunds, cancellations or exchanges, except as provided for in the LPA Ticketing Code of Practice for event ticketing. This is advised when purchasing a ticket. For more information please visit our Ticketing page.
