What are the dates of Brisbane Festival 2018?

These dates are soon to be released. Keep an eye out for them in early 2018.

How do I get a Festival program?

The best way to get all the information on events is here on our website. The 2018 program will be released mid-2018. 

I’m a student wanting information on Brisbane Festival. Can you answer these questions?

Unfortunately we do not have the resources to answer individual enquiries. Information regarding previous Festivals is available on our History page. Previous programs can be found here.

Can I perform at Brisbane Festival?

Brisbane Festival is a curated event and the character of the Festival is dependent on the vision of the Artistic Director. Unfortunately, Brisbane Festival is unable to offer assessment and feedback on unsolicited submissions. Please contact brisbanefestival@brisbanefestival.com.au for more information.

Is there an opportunity to hold a stall at any of the Brisbane Festival events?

Brisbane Festival files all stall enquiries and applications so please feel free to send your information through to brisbanefestival@brisbanefestival.com.au for future opportunities.

Can I volunteer to work for Brisbane Festival?

Can I bring my own food and drink to Treasury Brisbane Arcadia?

Yes, except for alcoholic beverages. All other beverages must be in cans or plastic bottles.

Can I use my camera or recording device inside the theatre or The Courier-Mail Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent?

The use of video and audio recording devices are strictly prohibited at all Brisbane Festival shows. Taking photos in The Courier-Mail Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent is at the discretion of the performing artist and will be communicated to the audience at the start of the performance.

Is The Courier-Mail Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent an all ages venue?

The Courier-Mail Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent hosts both all ages and restricted audience performances. Entry will be determined by the nature of each production in the venue.

Are children permitted in Treasury Brisbane Arcadia?

We welcome people of all ages to experience Treasury Brisbane Arcadia. Some ticketed performance are over 18. If this is the case, this requirement will be clearly stated on the event’s webpage.

Are any performances Auslan interpreted?

Brisbane Festival is working with partners to provide Auslan translations of text-based works (where text is central to understanding and appreciating the work). However, Auslan translations will not be provided for circus or physical theatre productions as the stories are largely told though physical movement and staging effects. Please see our Ticketing page for more information.

Can I select my seat when purchasing my 2017 ticket for The Courier-Mail Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent?

The Courier-Mail Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent has 'Priority Queue' add on tickets available for purchase which guarantee premium seating. 

Can I book a booth at The Courier-Mail Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent?

All tickets, including the booths, are general admission at The Courier-Mail Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent.

Do I have to buy a ticket for my child at The Courier-Mail Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent or the Piazza?

Children 2 years and under are free; 3 years and older require a ticket.

Can I book for a group?

Where can I collect my ticket?

Tickets can be sent via Standard Mail (10-14 days) or collected from the relevant box office at the venue. Please see our Ticketing page for more information.

I want to cancel/change/refund my ticket.

Once a sale is finalised, there will be no refunds, cancellations or exchanges, except as provided for in the LPA Ticketing Code of Practice for event ticketing. This is advised when purchasing a ticket. Please see our Ticketing page for more information.

What is a Multi-Tix discount?

Our Multi-Tix discounts allow you save 15% on your tickets for eligible shows, when you book tickets to 3 or more shows in one transaction. Please see our Ticketing page for more information.

Where can I buy a Brisbane Festival gift voucher?

Brisbane Festival requests PWD patrons attending The Courier-Mail Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent events to approach the Treasury Brisbane Arcadia Box Office on arrival to arrange assistance. All other PWD enquiries should be directed to QTIX via 136 246.

What is the date of 2018 Sunsuper Riverfire?

This date is yet to be released. Stay tuned.

Will Sunsuper Riverfire still be on if it rains?

Yes, Sunsuper Riverfire will still go ahead in the rain. In the event of any delays or cancellations we will make announcements on the event listing and through Twitter and Facebook and via Channel 9 and Triple M.

How can I hear the playlist for Sunsuper Riverfire?

Tune in to Triple M to hear the playlist. Certain areas through South Bank and Brisbane will have audio set up on the evening.

Where are the best viewing points?

Information including a downloadable map of vantage points is published on the Sunsuper Riverfire web page.

Will roads be closed for Sunsuper Riverfire 2017?

There will be road, bridge and river closures affecting Brisbane City, South Brisbane, Kangaroo Point and Fortitude Valley areas from midday. There is more information and an  interactive map on the Road, Bridge & Closures page.

When are the 2017 ADF Aerial Displays?

Information is now published on the Sunsuper Riverfire web page.

Can I use a drone during Sunsuper Riverfire?

Due to the increased risk posed by low flying aircraft and fireworks during the event and practice days drones are prohibited to be flown with in 1500m of the event venues at any time , as such flights may pose a significant risk to both other aircraft and people viewing the event on the ground.

Will South Bank be fenced?

South Bank is a popular place for families to watch Sunsuper Riverfire. The venue is fenced for public safety and will be closed if capacity is reached.

Can I take my own drinks or alcohol into South Bank?

South Bank is an alcohol-free zone. Please do not bring glass, alcohol or any liquid in a container that has already been opened including reusable drink bottles. These items will be confiscated by South Bank security staff. Bag checks will commence from 9am.

What can’t I bring to South Bank?

Please don’t bring pets, bikes, scooters, drink bottles with broken seals (including water bottles and soft drink), glass, metal cutlery or alcohol to South Bank. Those items will be confiscated by South Bank security staff on arrival. If you’re unsure about whether to bring an item, please contact the South Bank team via info@south-bank.net.au. Bag checks will commence at 9am.

Can I take my dog to South Bank?

No. Dogs will not be permitted in the parklands for Sunsuper Riverfire. See the pet section below for recommendations on keeping your pets safe at home during the fireworks display.

What should I do with my pet on Sunsuper Riverfire night?

Here are some tips to ensure your animals are safe and secure:

  • Contain your animal in your house or garage overnight; ensure there is a comfortable bed, plenty of water and some food.
  • It is advisable to close the curtains and turn on the TV or radio to provide some distraction.
  • Leave your pet with a friend or family member who is not going out.
  • Ensure your pet wears appropriate identification at all times, just in case they do escape.

If your dog becomes distressed during fireworks or thunder, speak to your local veterinarian as they may be able to recommend something to help keep animals calm.

Will there be additional public transport services for Sunsuper Riverfire?

Additional Citytrain and Brisbane Transport Bus services will operate to and from Sunsuper Riverfire. For full information about timetabled services, fares, temporary stops and additional services visit the TransLink website or call 13 12 30.

Please note: due to construction works, access to South Bank train station is currently restricted. Passengers wishing to access train services should consider using South Brisbane or Roma Street train stations after the event to avoid anticipated long queues.

Free travel applies for two hours after Sunsuper Riverfire finishes (7.30pm-9.30pm)

Will there be enough toilets for patrons during Sunsuper Riverfire?

Brisbane Festival provides temporary toilet facilities at various locations including South Bank, Kangaroo Point and the Fortitude Valley.

Can I buy food at Kangaroo Point and South Bank for Sunsuper Riverfire?

Food and beverage vendors will be located at popular Sunsuper Riverfire vantage points including South Bank and Kangaroo Point. Visit the Sunsuper Riverfire event listing to view the Vantage Point map for this information.

Will there be an increase in security at the 2017 Sunsuper Riverfire?

As always, we are working closely with Queensland Police Service and professional security teams. Sunsuper Riverfire is a major event in the city’s calendar and we always have people’s safety front of mind.

I want to view the Sunsuper Riverfire fireworks display from my boat on the Brisbane River. How can I get permission to do so?

For public safety, Maritime Safety Queensland closes that section of the Brisbane River between Mowbray Park, East Brisbane and Cribb Street, Milton during Sunsuper Riverfire. Regulations will be in place to establish fireworks exclusion zones and two temporary spectator mooring zones in the Town Reach. All spectator vessels attending must be registered for an Entry Permit Aquatic Flag in order to gain access to the dedicated spectator mooring zones.
