The beautifully designed festival site, with a touch of Utopia, offers a warm and welcoming world of performance, food stalls, bars, music and fun nestled amongst four venues at Kelvin Grove’s QUT Creative Industries Precinct.
While lounging under the stars you can enjoy a free nightly music program, explore beautiful curiosities, play arcade games and musical instruments, or just relax with a drink among our unique light installations – all while experiencing some of the outstanding shows that make up the 2017 Theatre Republic program.
This is the Republic’s biggest and most invigorating program yet: a stellar line-up of 14 on-the-edge productions drawing together artists from across Australia, Singapore and the UK and including world premiere productions from two of Brisbane’s most beloved performance companies.
On any given night you can catch at least two short and sharp shows – from The Good Room’s remarkable I JUST CAME TO SAY GOODBYE to Zoë Coombs Marr’s comic masterpiece Trigger Warning to Deborah Pearson’s intriguing History History History – as well as free performances and live music from some of our city’s finest bands.
Taking pride of place at the site – in the newly refurbished Roundhouse Theatre – is a 15th show, the specially commissioned production of Laser Beak Man.
So round up some friends, grab some tickets and relax in Theatre Republic this September. You’ll unearth treasures.
