LUATÉ

South sudanese/australian artist Luatè is an emerging alt-pop singer/songwriter based in Brisbane. She creates highly emotive works, penning lyrics laden with viscous imagery.

LUATÉ

Coining the term ‘existentialist pop’ Luatè describes her work as being “at its marrow, an acute and urgent pursuit of honesty.” Sonically, she has been compared to artists like Nao, Lorde & Kira Puru.

Among her more notable ventures in the music scene, Luatè has performed at Bleach* Festival, Sofar Sounds and many more revered stages. While performing has always been an auxiliary passion for this young artist, her craft fervently remains in lyricism.

Over the years she’s written with many peers including Gold Coast artist and Gold Coast music award recipient DENNIS. Among the many songs the two have written is ‘Trap Door’, a single that was shortlisted for the 2020 Gold Coast Music Awards Song of the Year and has since racked up over 190,000 Spotify plays.

Brisbane Festival expresses deep respect to and acknowledges the First People of this Country.
