QSO Plays the Romantics
Singapore’s Darrell Ang is one of the world’s most lively up-and-coming conductors. Now he leads the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in a double bill of great nineteenth century romantic works based on the journeys of two of Byron’s wandering heroes, Harold and Manfred.
Wander with Byron’s hero Harold through the wild Abruzzi Mountains and the villages of Italy, as leading violist Antoine Tamestit performs Berlioz’s great work.
Then lose yourself as lush music sweeps and unfolds through the Concert Hall, depicting all the turbulence and passion of Manfred –Byron’s tortured romantic hero.
