Brisbane Festival and King Street, in association with The Tivoli, present

Heaps Gay Trash Palace

8 Sept | The Tivoli

Heaps Gay (AUS)

The most riotous reception for the opening of Brisbane Festival.

Heaps Gay lands in Brisbane with a huge art trash splash! Put on your best DIY outfit and dumpster dive into a world of queer decadence filled with rowdy and rousing performers, gaudy live acts, and party-starting DJs. It’s better than your great auntie’s wedding.

Inside the Tivoli will be an ‘80s-themed trash wedding party with a block party in the car park.

South African musician Fortune Shumba will be on hand to provide electro pop-beats, as well as Melbourne’s drag/dance/cabaret/circus troupe YUMMY, Sydney band The Magda Szubanskis, and a range of local queer performers including the hilariously satirical Architects of Sound, Sezzo Snot, and local royalty Tina Bikki, the Queen of Camp.

It’s a dress-up celebration jampacked to the rim with all killer, no filler, with more surprises ahead!

This performance contains sexual references, nudity and uses a haze machine, strobe effects and a smoke machine. Suitable for audiences 18+ years.
