Mother's Ruin: A Cabaret About Gin
Equal parts historical and hysterical, all-heaving harmonies and tipsy candour, we invite you on a sublime musical journey through the history of ‘mother’s ruin’, AKA gin. Stumble and soar through tales of love and women, gin and secrets, as we wind our way through 18th-century London, colonial India, a few New York speakeasies and the jungles of Peru, via sailors and barmaids, bootleggers and master distillers.
For one week only the Roundhouse Theatre will be transformed into a boozy, magical little gin joint featuring songs by Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone, Tom Waits, Martha Wainwright, The Popes, Sia, Jessie J, and more.
