Brisbane Festival, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Griffith University present

Symphony For Me

QPAC - Concert Hall
15 Sep

Queensland Symphony Orchestra (AUS)

Many people have a favourite piece of orchestral music, even if they don’t think of themselves as a classical music fan. Maybe something heard as a child, or known from a film or linked with a big life event. It’s music that occupies a special place.

In this free concert, hosted by Channel Nine Queensland’s Nine News presenter Andrew Lofthouse, we’ll hear the most captivating of those personal stories and the music that’s part of them. On the night, the members of the public who have been selected will be special guests of the Festival, invited onto the stage to share the personal significance of the music they’ve chosen. Then, sitting next to the conductor, they’ll witness the full force and beauty of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra playing their selected music.

This free concert uncovers extraordinary stories in an unforgettable evening of musical delights. In 2015, all the tickets went in 17 minutes. In 2016, it took 14 minutes. It was much missed in 2017, and returns in 2018!
