Communities Program

2025-08-27_topology-35

Art is for Everyone!

Under the leadership of new Artistic Director Ebony Bott, Brisbane Festival remains committed to building upon the success of the Communities Program over the last five years, seeking to further expand on innovative approaches, piloting new artistic formats, providing pathways to larger scale outcomes and growing presence across neighbourhoods that have yet to benefit from the program. We work with Neighbourhood and Community Centres across Brisbane and pair them with creative artists to run workshops in a variety of artforms; bringing circus to the suburbs and dance to the districts.

Our inclusive and accessible Communities Workshop Program is a cornerstone of the Brisbane Festival. With the sustained support of the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety, we are breaking down the barriers communities face to fully access and participate in genuine and authentic high quality arts experiences.

Brisbane Festival is seeking expressions of interest from Neighbourhood Centres based in the Brisbane City Council area to get involved and host a series of arts workshops designed to deeply connect with your local artists and community members.  For more information and how to apply, please see the Information Pack.

Are you interested in taking part in free creative workshops this year? Registrations for participants will open from early June 2026 so keep an eye out for more details!
