Communities Program
Art is for Everyone!
At the heart of the Brisbane Festival Communities Program is connecting communities with artists and creative practice.
Through our Artist in Residence model, Brisbane Festival partners with Neighbourhood Centres to deliver high-quality arts experiences that support creativity, connection and wellbeing. This program is made possible with the funding and support of the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety.
In 2026, the program will focus on the following artforms:
- Dance and movement
- Choir and singing
- Visual arts
- Fashion and textiles
Participating centres will work with Brisbane Festival to create vibrant, pop-up creative hubs that bring communities together through shared artistic experiences.
Applications are now open for Neighbourhood centres within the Brisbane City area to host a series of artist-led workshops as part of Brisbane Festival 2026, designed to engage local artists and community members. For more information and how to apply, please see the information pack below.
Applications close Mon 30 March 2026. If you have any questions, please email francesca@brisbanefestival.com.au or call 3833 5400.
