Neighbourhood Centres
Our inclusive and accessible Communities Workshop Program is a cornerstone of the Brisbane Festival Program. Each year, we collaborate with local arts and neighbourhood centres across the length and breadth of Brisbane, bringing music to the suburbs and visual arts to the districts.
Entering the initiative’s sixth year and with the sustained support of the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety, we are breaking down the barriers communities face to fully access and participate in genuine and authentic high quality arts experiences.
Neighbourhood centres play a vital role in connecting communities through creativity, providing welcoming spaces for engagement. We are working with 8 local neighbourhood centres and connecting them with creative artists to facilitate workshops in visual arts, dance, choir, fashion and textiles, and more.
Participation in these workshops is free, and everyone is welcome.
Are you interested in taking part in free creative workshops this year? Registrations for participants will open from 9 June 2026.
