Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) is Brisbane’s flagship art museum precinct, home to major exhibitions, contemporary art, and free daily experiences across two riverside buildings at South Bank.

QAGOMA is located across two architecturally-acclaimed buildings, Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) and Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) by the Brisbane River in the Queensland Cultural Centre.

Getting There

Walk or Cycle


From the Brisbane central business district, walk across Victoria Bridge or Kurilpa footbridge.

QAG wheelchair access is via the lift on the Upper Level of the QAG car park, via ramps at the front entrance from Melbourne Street, or via the street level entrance on Stanley Place, located between both buildings.

GOMA wheelchair access is via the street level entrance on Stanley Place or via the lift from the Stanley Place car park beneath the State Library of Queensland.

Wheelchairs are available for visitors to use onsite. To book one, call the Information Desk on +61 (0)7 3840 7303 between 10.00am and 5.00pm.

Bike parking

There are 10 bike racks around the Queensland Cultural Centre for parking and securing your bike. Locate bike racks on the Cycling Brisbane bikeway map, which also shows on-road and off-road bikeways across Brisbane. Bikes are allowed on Brisbane trains and CityCats and ferries.

Drive and Park

Parking for the Cultural Precinct is available in two neighbouring carparks under the Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) and State Library of Queensland (SLQ), both accessible via Stanley Place.

Alternative car parks are located at South Bank Parklands and Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Development of the Brisbane Metro is currently underway in South Brisbane including the Cultural Centre station upgrade and precinct enhancements. Visit this webpage for the latest updates.

Public Transport

QAGOMA is right next to the Cultural Centre Busway station and a short walk from the South Brisbane train station and the South Bank CityCat and Ferry terminal.

Accessibility

Onsite Access & Parking

Mobility impaired and wheelchair access is available to both the Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) and Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA).

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available free of charge for use during a visit. To make a booking, contact the Information Desk between 10.00am and 5.00pm on +61 (0)7 3840 7303. Bookings are subject to availability.

Adult Change Facility

An Adult Change Facility is available at GOMA to support visitors with high support needs and their carers. This public toilet facility provides a safe, hygienic and dignified space and is equipped with a height-adjustable change table and hoist to ensure comfort and ease of access for all visitors.

Assisted Hearing

A hearing loop system is installed in the Australian Cinémathèque at GOMA. Headphones or neck loops are available for visitors with cochlear implants or hearing aids. Enquire at the GOMA Information Desk on arrival.

Companion Cards

Companion Card holders receive concession priced tickets to all paid exhibitions and selected programs, and a complimentary ticket for their companion. Complimentary tickets for companions must be collected at the Gallery.

Sensory Kits

Sensory Kits are available for use free of charge whilst in the Gallery. Each kit contains a number of resources for self-regulation and calming. Please speak to a Gallery and Visitor Services Officer upon arrival to collect a Sensory Kit.

Hidden Disability Sunflower

QAGOMA supports the Hidden Disability Sunflower Program. Visitors can choose to wear a Sunflower lanyard as a discreet way to show that they have a non-visible disability.

Assistance Dogs

Guide dogs and registered assistance dogs are welcome at QAGOMA.
