Brisbane Festival’s IAG provides advice to Brisbane Festival on First Nations governance, guided by principals of Respect for Culture and Country, First Nations Leadership, Collaboration, Authenticity, Accountability, and Self-Determination. Positions are open for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants only.
Members will be selected on the basis of the above requirements and in order to represent a diversity in demographics in age, gender, experience and networks.
The Position
Brisbane Festival is committed to working in collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to strengthen cultural and artistic relationships, particularly in relation to protocols, community engagement, employment opportunities and programming which highlights the rich cultural heritage of our First Nations Peoples.
Brisbane Festival’s Indigenous Advisory Group provides advice to Brisbane Festival on First Nations governance, guided by principals of Respect for Culture and Country, First Nations Leadership, Collaboration, Authenticity, Accountability, and Self-Determination.
IAG members bring collective knowledge and experience as practicing artists, arts workers, educators, lawyers, academics, and as leaders in arts, community, heritage, education, tourism, business, and government across Queensland. They bring first-hand experience of the needs, issues, and interests to sustain and grow First Nations arts, culture, and creativity.
Membership is for a term of two (2) years, unless otherwise agreed.
