Latin Dance Workshop with Rio Rhythmics Latin Dance Academy
A joyful journey through the rhythms and cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Come experience Merengue, Bachata and Samba no Pé. These inclusive workshops are suitable for beginners, with no partner or previous dance experience required. You can just do one workshop or enjoy all three, meet new people and discover how Latin dance brings together music, movement, culture and community.
Session 1 - Merengue, from the Dominican Republic, is lively, social and easy to learn, making it a wonderful introduction to Latin partner dancing.
Session 2 - Bachata, also from the Dominican Republic, combines rhythm, musicality and connection in a warm and welcoming partner dance.
Session 3 - Samba no Pé brings the energy and spirit of Brazil, inviting each person to move individually, express themselves and celebrate through rhythm.
The workshops are led by Brazilian-born dance educator Tarcisio Teatini-Climaco, founder of Rio Rhythmics Latin Dance Academy. Tarcisio has more than 50 years of experience teaching dance, movement and culture and has introduced more than 50,000 people to authentic Latin dance.

Rio Rhythmics has been part of the Brisbane community for 32 years and, in that time, has welcomed more than 50,000 students through its doors. But Rio Rhythmics has always been more than a dance school. It is a place where culture, music, movement and community come together, and where people of all ages can discover confidence, connection and joy through authentic Latin dance.
