Absurd, explosive, and painfully familiar.
The Natural Horse is a dark comedy about power, family, and how far we’ll go to maintain a myth. The Kareninas, a family of ex-Soviet immigrants, struggle to maintain their familial relationships after their eldest daughter, Masha, adopts a feral horse named Goodboy and brings him to live in their comfortable suburban home.
Presented by award-winning indie company Salad Days Collective, this debut Australian season gallops into Brisbane Festival with guts, grime, and glitter.

Salad Days Collective
Salad Days Collective is an independent creative company founded by Jasmine Prasser and Leo Buzac, and now shaped by the creative leadership of Jasmine Prasser and Georgina Sawyer.
Dedicated to a fearless, interdisciplinary approach to storytelling, Salad Days champions ambitious, provocative work — unafraid to honour brilliant yet often overlooked plays and push the boundaries of contemporary theatre.
Their mission is to redefine success as the act of creation itself: bold, collaborative, and artistically uncompromising. By combining diverse creative voices and taking risks with form, narrative, and ideology, Salad Days Collective creates work that is confrontational, playful, and deeply human — embracing the process as the ultimate achievement.
