Artists
Jason Heerah & The African Diaspora (featuring Gervais Koffi)
Jason Heerah & The African Diaspora (featuring Gervais Koffi) deliver a high-energy fusion of Mauritian sega, reggae kreole and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. Mauritian-born Jason Heerah - widely regarded as the world’s best singing drummer - brings his signature sound to the stage with standout tracks including Kifer To Pale Danse, Levé (9M+ views) and Presence.
Joining him is Ivorian-born Gervais Koffi, a commanding performer known for his electrifying stage presence and deep connection to African musical traditions. Both highly acclaimed international touring artists they have performed at major festivals including Glastonbury, WOMAD, Afrobeats Festival, Mauritius Open Air Festival, National Multicultural Festival and Festival Kreol.
Together with The African Diaspora band, they create a vibrant, rhythm-driven live show shaped by global touring across Europe, Africa and Australia — a powerful meeting of Indian Ocean and African sounds, rich in groove, culture and connection.
Sean Choolburra
Sean is a proud descendant of the Gu-Gu-Yalanji, Kalkadoon, Kandju, Pitta Pitta and Bwgcolman peoples from Townsville and Palm Island.
After studying dance, he established Sydney’s first independent traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance company, Ngaru Dance Company (now known as Descendance). He travelled the world with Bangarra Dance Theatre before his natural exuberance led him to comedy.
Sean has appeared at Edinburgh Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe and many more. Film and TV include Play School, Bluey, The Cook Up with Adam Liaw and movie The Furnace; and other appearances include The Footy Show, Thank God You’re Here, Express Yourself and In the Frame.
Right now, Sean is in constant demand as an MC and Comedian for official functions, corporate events, theatre shows, comedy clubs, workshops, openings & festivals.
Sean is an ambassador and the communicator of positive messages for health, education, and employment, which has seen him promote “No Smokes” and anti-tobacco campaigns, employment messages for Indigenous Jobs Australia, Fred Hollows Trachoma Program, Stronger Smarter, and much more.
The Steele Syndicate
The Steele Syndicate is a Brisbane-based, funk-rock septet that is raucous and punchy, with a genre-bending sound that is guaranteed to get you up and moving. This band is rock meets horns fusion, in a live extravaganza that will blow your proverbial socks off, and once the socks are off, your feet start burning because the dance floor is on fire. No backing tracks, just wall to wall real music, world class musicianship and an onslaught of anthemic funk rock goodness.
The Steele Syndicate is well versed on the Australian festival scene, performing at Bluesfest Byron Bay 2025 and 2024, Peak Festival 2025 and winning the 2024 Bluesfest Busking Competition.
