In this sweeping family epic, Joshua Hinton transports the audience from Iran to India, Sri Lanka to South Africa, and from his family's iconic Brisbane restaurant to his home in Wollongong. A charming, funny, and moving journey of culture and belonging framed around the Paddington Indian restaurant – Sultan's Kitchen. 

Inspired by a story from Stephen Page’s grandmother from the Ngugi/Nunukul/Moondjan people of Minjerribah, Baleen Moondjan uses dramatic storytelling, striking choreography, and haunting music to share the story of a proud Elder, a curious granddaughter, and the day a baleen whale passes by the shore. In his first major commission since Bangarra Dance Theatre, creative visionary Stephen Page brings his contemporary ceremony to his hometown. 

The Common People Dance Eisteddfod has become a revered tradition here in our fair city. Teams from across South East Queensland battle it out over one epic night and need you to cheer and shout as they dance the night away. It's the ultimate dance battle of the ‘burbs — so slap on some sequins, bring some attitude, and come join the fun barracking for your team. 

Led by Common People Dance Project, this immersive experience transforms the Museum of Brisbane into a glittering, high-energy dance party where community stories take centre stage. Join in the dance with free school holiday workshops — grab your leg warmers, sequins, and hit the dancefloor!

It’s the age-old question every Brisbanite has an opinion on: which side of the river is better — north or south? In this lively and laughter-filled showdown, a line-up of iconic locals go head-to-head in a battle of wit, pride and hometown loyalty. Two determined teams will face off in a cheeky contest where no suburb is safe from a bit of friendly fire.

Griffith University Art Museum’s newest exhibition, Craig & Karl: Double Vision, is a dynamic, playful exploration of one of the state’s most internationally successful creative collaborations. Employing the duo’s signature visual language, defined by bold colour, graphic precision, and infectious joy, the exhibition maps the artists’ three-decade-long creative partnership from students at Griffith University’s Queensland College of Art & Design to global powerhouses.

Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Queensland, Make a Scene illuminates key moments from this period and features extraordinary pieces from the museum’s textile and costume collections.
