The Great Debate

It’s the age-old question every Brisbanite has an opinion on: which side of the river is better — north or south?

In this lively and laughter-filled showdown, a line-up of iconic locals go head-to-head in a battle of wit, pride and hometown loyalty. Two determined teams will face off in a cheeky contest where no suburb is safe from a bit of friendly fire.

From artists and athletes to media personalities and local legends, the stage is set for big opinions, brilliant banter, and a celebration of everything that makes Brisbane... Brisbane! With each side repping their turf with gusto, expect passionate arguments, playful jabs, and the kind of warm-hearted rivalry only this city can deliver.

North-Siders Jenny Woodward, Rachel Burke, Neridah Waters and Loretta Ryan take on South-Siders Craig Zonca, Karmichael Hunt and Kelly Higgins-Devine, in this spirited showdown hosted by Queensland Theatre’s (mostly impartial) Artistic Director, Daniel Evans.

Whether you’re proudly northside, fiercely southside, or just here for the drama, The Great Debate will have you laughing, cheering, and maybe even questioning your postcode.

Tickets for this event will become available on Tuesday 2 September.
