#Accessibility at Brisbane Powerhouse

Venue

There is a drop off area in the Brisbane Powerhouse car park with level access to the Stores Building and lift access to the main building. All levels of Brisbane Powerhouse are accessible by lift. The Turbine Platform can be accessed via ramp. On entry to the theatre, an usher will direct you to your seats. Wheelchair accessible toilets are located on all levels.

Parking

Designated parking spaces are available for patrons with special needs. A lift operates from the Stores Building (car park level) to the Powerhouse Plaza where the main entrance to the Brisbane Powerhouse is located. For patrons who require assistance travelling from our car park to our theatres, Brisbane Powerhouse can make arrangements to accommodate your needs with 24 hours advance notice. A wheelchair can also be made available on request whilst the patron is visiting Brisbane Powerhouse.

Booking Tickets

Wheelchair and special needs seating is available. Please notify Box Office of your requirements at the time of booking, a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Please note that balcony seating in the Powerhouse Theatre is not wheelchair accessible.

Companion cards are accepted for events at Brisbane Powerhouse unless otherwise stated. Please advise that you will be using a companion card at the time of booking. Companion cards must be presented when collecting the tickets.

Assisted Listening Devices (Hearing Loop)

Please notify Box Office at the time of booking should you require a Hearing Loop. Our hearing loop has an earpiece that sits over your ear and may be used without a hearing aid.

Getting There

Parking
If you’re planning on driving, there are over 100 free parks, with more opened in busy periods. If you have a dinner or performance reservation, we encourage you to arrive 40-50 minutes early to give yourself time to find a park. 

Public Transport

Citycat Ferry — The New Farm Ferry Terminal is located approximately 200 metres from Brisbane Powerhouse, with services every 30 minutes until midnight.

Bus Service — The 195 and 196 bus services stop at the end of Brunswick Street at Oxlade Drive, on the East side of New Farm Park. The 199 bus stops at Merthyr Road and Hawthorne Street. Both stops are a short walk away from Brisbane Powerhouse.

Taxi/Rideshare
The taxi/rideshare collect and drop off area is located inside the car park beside the Stores Building.
