Public Transport

Public transport services are available at a walking distance with the South Brisbane train station and Cultural Centre busway located a 10-minute walk away.

#Accessibility

Venue Access

The entrance/exit to the South Bank Piazza has ramp at approximately a 25-degree angle. The rest of path to the access seating area is relatively flat.

The general Admission Stands are inaccessible for some patrons as they require the use of stairs. Depending on the patron's access requirements, assistance from staff can be provided to use the stairs at the patron's request.

Parking

South Bank’s underground car park (located on Little Stanley Street) has 8 disabled parking bays, which are located near the car park lifts at the northern and southern ends of level B1. The closest parking to the Piazza is located at the northern end. These spaces are available on a first come first served basis and cannot be reserved.

Accessible Seating

Accessible seating has been reserved on both ends of the cabaret seating area within the Piazza. The bar is accessible form the southern wing seating area, however patrons seated in the northern end of the cabaret seating area may need assistance from a companion or Front of House staff.

Accessible Toilets

Standard disabled bathrooms are located at South Bank Piazza and Stanley Street Plaza, while a specially designed accessible bathroom that includes a shower, ceiling hoist and a change table/shower trolley is located behind the Central Cafes.

To use the ceiling hoist in this bathroom, you will need to bring your own sling with loop attachments. The key for the ceiling hoist can be collected from the South Bank Visitor Information and Booking Centre, which is located in Stanley Street Plaza. Food & Drink

Hot food purchased from a non Festival vendor is prohibited within the South Bank Piazza. Patrons must finish consuming any such food before being admitted. All other food such as crisps, nuts, lollies ice creams etc. are permitted.

Wheelchairs and strollers are both available for hire from the South Bank Visitor Information and Booking Centre. As well as standard wheelchairs, we also have a purpose-built pool wheelchair and a purpose-built beach wheelchair available. Standard wheelchair and stroller hire fees are $7 for a half a day (up to four hours) and $14 a full day (four hours and over, until 5:00pm), $21 overnight. The pool wheelchair and beach wheelchair are free to use and can be hired for a maximum of two hours only.

When hiring all wheelchairs (including the pool and beach wheelchairs) you must present photo ID and leave a $50 deposit which will be refunded when you return the wheelchair. When hiring a stroller, you must present photo ID and leave a $20 deposit which will be refunded when you return the stroller.
