Located in the heart of Woolloongabba, The Princess is Brisbane’s newest home for live music, entertainment and the arts in Queensland’s oldest-standing performing arts venue, built in 1888.

Public transport services are available at a walking distance with the Mater Hill and Woolloongabba busways located at a walking distance.

Parking

Located off the main strip of Woolloongabba, The Princess Theatre has a variety of drop-off zones, and free and paid parking options, including the nearby Princess Parking.


#Accessibility

Venue Access & Drop Off

The Princess is wheelchair accessible, with a lift at the front of the building and down to the toilets at the rear of the building.

At the front of our building we have an lift from the footpath on Annerley Road. Ushers or our Head of Security will scan your tickets, help you with the lift controls if you need assistance, and from there you can make your way into the auditorium for quick bar service and to the front of the stage where our accessible area is located.

Everyone is welcome at The Princess. We will try our best to support you to have a wonderful time with us. Please call the office Mon-Fri 9am-4pm on (07) 2104 3833 to discuss your needs prior to the event.

Accessible options are available for wheelchair users and disabled patrons. Please notify our team of your requirements at the time of booking so that we can ensure we allocate an good amount of space for all patrons.

Please note that Mezzanine seating in the Princess Theatre is not wheelchair accessible due to its heritage listing.

Parking

The Princess Theatre does not have any dedicated parking available, due to it being built in 1888.

The closest paid accessible parking is right next door at The Princess Car Park (https://princessparking.com.au/). Please note, this carpark is not affiliated with the venue.

Alternatively, there are accessible car parks available at the Mater Hill West Car Park (570 Stanley Street, South Brisbane) located 3mins from the venue.

Accessible Seating

The Princess Theatre main auditorium and bars is a medium-pile carpeted flat floor, completely wheelchair accessible from the main side entrance, fitted with an automatic door that is operable from both inside and outside the venue.

Please note that Mezzanine seating in the Princess Theatre is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible due to its heritage listing.

Our accessible area for gigs is located at the front of the barrier next to the internal lift (toilet access) and roped off from the main audience to ensure there is adequate/ comfortable space.

Our accessible areas for seated shows are outlined in the ticketing map when booking, located at the front of the room and close to the internal lift access to the bathrooms. Please call the office Mon-Fri 9am-4pm on (07) 2104 3833 to discuss your needs prior to the event.

If you are looking to book a seat in the Princess Theatre accessible section, please call the office on (07) 2104 3833 at least 72 hours prior to the show.

Please note our accessible section is reserved for people who need it, and we can't accommodate people who simply don't want to stand.

Accessible Bathrooms & Baby Change Facilities

Our accessible toilet is located at the rear of the venue. You can get to the toilet block by internal lift from the Auditorium to the Lower Level.

Baby Change Stations are installed in bathrooms located on Level 1 and the rear toilet block for all Children's performances.

Quiet Space

Our Courtyard and Gallery Bar space provides a relay feed from the main auditorium where patrons can still hear the performance, but at a reduced volume.

The top of the Laneway on Ground Level and the Gallery Balcony located on the first floor do not have an dedicated audio feed, and are spaces that we encourage patrons to make the best use of if they need a break.

Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dogs

The Princess Theatre welcomes patrons accompanied by assistance animals. Please contact call The Princess Theatre on (07) 2111 4700 if you have any questions.

Ear Plug Availability

Please just ask any of our Bar Staff or Box Office who can provide you with earplugs.
