Enjoy an exceptional performance from the students of Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.
Street Scene by Kurt Weill is a groundbreaking synthesis of traditional opera and musical theatre, which received a Tony Award for Best Original Score.
Set on the East Side of Manhattan in sweltering 1940’s New York, the tale centres around residents of tenement buildings over a 24-hour span. Neighbourly gossip, a romance, and a torrid affair escalate tensions to a tragic end.
Incorporating jazz and blues influences alongside Puccini and Broadway style numbers, this is a great introduction to opera.

Conductor Professor Johannes Fritzsch
